ENERGATE

Project overview

GGGI is an implementing partner of the ENERGATE consortium, led by the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) aiming to create an ICT-enabled, energy efficiency marketplace to accelerate the renovation rate of buildings in Europe. The underlying issue that ENERGATE addresses is that there is a general lack of attractive and accessible financing packages available for the building sector. In this context, adequate tools and methodologies are needed to attract private finance to sustainable energy and energy efficiency investments. Although standardization and mainstreaming efforts of financing products to reduce risk exist, one-stop shops to act as independent, transparent, and accessible advisory tools are required to inform and assist in this effort, and to act as an aggregation platform of projects.

Objective

ENERGATE aims to facilitate the creation of an effective, ICT-enabled, energy efficiency marketplace bringing together energy services and sustainable finance to accelerate the renovation rate of buildings by increasing the chances for projects to be financed. ENERGATE envisions to transform the complex set of decision-making actions for targeted groups, even to non-experts, into a user-friendly and single-entry service.

Our role

GGGI’s primary role in the project is to develop a replication strategy and facilitate the replication and upscaling of the project results in Hungary and beyond. In addition, GGGI will develop dedicated project fiches for potential renovation projects as well as develop Pilot Projects Evaluation and Formulation of Contractual Framework.
