Mr. Ban Ki-moon, President and Chair of GGGI, participated in the Ecosperity Week 2019, an annual platform for global business leaders, policy-makers, investors, entrepreneurs and academia to discuss the latest developments and drive action on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Presented by Temasek, an investment company headquartered in Singapore, Ecosperity Week 2019 was held between June 4 and 7, in Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

On the sidelines of the Ecosperity Week 2019, President and Chair Mr. Ban had an interview with CNBC Asia where he stated that GGGI’s six Strategic Outcomes are closely aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GGGI works across the thematic priorities of sustainable energy, green cities, sustainable landscapes and water and sanitation to deliver impact through six strategic outcomes which are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, GGGI’s 70 projects contribute to all of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Mr. Ban delivered a keynote speech at the Ecosperity Dinner, highlighting the importance of acting together to tackle climate change. During his speech at the Future China Global Forum 2019, he reiterated that addressing climate change will help achieve the majority of the SDGs and meeting these goals will help create a better sustainable future and a better quality of life.
