GGGI Releases its Achieving Green Energy Transformation Report

May 7, 2020; SEOUL – Transitioning to sustainable energy is an urgent priority for countries to address the current climate emergency and achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. To support its Members and partners, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) released its Achieving Global Green Transformation publication, featuring a collection of GGGI flagship reports highlighting the economic foundations of green growth and key approaches for developing green growth policies and plans and for implementing and financing green infrastructure within several key sectors.

Green technology disruptions and smart solutions present critical opportunities to transform economic sectors, advance social and environmental objectives, and deliver key services. In this technical report, GGGI explains approaches to promoting a green energy transformation, such as applying green growth policies and plans and implementing and financing scalable green energy projects and programs.

The lead authors of the report were GGGI Principal Energy Specialist, Dereje Senshaw, GGGI Senior Energy Engineer, Muharrem Askin, and GGGI Renewable Energy Analyst, Bolormaa Chimednamjil.
