Cote d’Ivoire, August 30, 2023 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), in collaboration with
the Ministry of Environment and Development and the Autonomous District of Abidjan organized the validation workshop of the green city directives for the district at Silver Moon Hotel.
The objectives of this workshop were to present to stakeholders the priorities and guidelines for the various sectors and to gather feedback from stakeholders and validate the guidelines with them.
The meeting started with an opening session during which, Dr. Alain Serges Kouadio, GGGI’s Senior program officer delivered a welcome speech to the participants, followed by Mr. Aka, representative of the Autonomous District of Abidjan who provided his statement on behalf of the Minister Governor. Finally, Lt-Col. Yao Marcel NDA representative of the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development provided his opening remarks.
Subsequently, the Project coordinator Dr Nicaise Aman presented the green city guidelines, with focus on the following points:
- Background on the green city
- Methodology
- Priorities and guidelines
- Next steps
All the participants provided their contributions and remarks which will be integrated into the final version of the document.
The closing remarks of the validation workshop were delivered by Dr. Nicaise Aman, Senior Program Associate, GGGI Abidjan, who thanked the participants for their presence and active participation during this workshop.
