Zulfiya Khazhina joined GGGI Qatar Program in May 2023 as a Senior Associate for Green Growth. Zulfiya brings 5+ years of experience in the public sector. Prior to joining GGGI, she worked in the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, supporting the development of strategic projects in the energy sector, drafting policy documentations, technical regulations, and standards. Zulfiya started her career path at GGGI in July 2021, when she joined the organization as an intern and then, about a year later, as a consultant for the GGGI Qatar Program.

Zulfiya holds a master’s degree in International Energy Policy from Seoul National University. She also obtained several professional certificates in the areas of financial risks and opportunities related to climate change, energy modeling, project management, etc.

Zulfiya is a national of Kazakhstan. She has lived in Astana and Seoul and speaks English, Kazakh, Russian, and Korean (basic).
