Wesley Ramnauth

Wesley joined GGGI Lao PDR in July 2023 as a Carbon Policy Officer to support the Government to strengthen policies and institutions to participate in international carbon markets. He previously worked in the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Lao PDR, as an SDG planning and financing technical coordinator. There, he provided policy support and technical assistance to the Government of Lao PDR to formulate the country’s national plan and financing strategy and the Least Developed Country Graduation Smooth Transition Strategy. Before moving to Lao PDR, Wesley was an Overseas Development Institute’s Fellow posted in Djibouti, advising the Ministry of Finance on macroeconomic policies and national planning. He began his career with the French Ministry for the Economy, posted in the Embassy of France in Vietnam, as an Economic Attaché in charge of macroeconomic and trade policy. Wesley holds a MSc in Environmental Economics and Policy from Imperial College London and a MA in International Affairs from Sciences Po Lille.
