GGGI Consults Partners on its Five-Year Country Planning Framework

Tashkent, Uzbekistan [February 16, 2023] – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) held its five-year Country Planning Framework (CPF) technical consultation for the period 2023–2027. The consultation brought together key government representatives, development partners, and other stakeholders to outline pathways to assist the Government of Uzbekistan in achieving its green growth goals and fostering climate-resilient transition. Several high-level dignitaries and guests attended the CPF, including H.E. Ms. Zehavit Ben Hillel, Ambassador of Israel to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Dr. Frank Rijsberman, Director General of Global Green Growth Institute, and H.E. Mr. Jusipbek Kazbekov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Natural Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered opening remarks highlighting GGGI’s chosen programmatic solutions – green investments, climate action, climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable forests, waste management, green buildings, and green industries. They also emphasized the significance of the collaborative process in GGGI’s approach.

Dr. Aaron Russell, GGGI Uzbekistan Country Representative, presented the draft CPF to the plenary, after which attendees formed working groups to discuss the contents, provide valuable feedback, and present their insights to the plenary. The feedback gathered during the CPF process will be consolidated and integrated into the final CPF in preparation for public consultation later in 2023.

This collaborative effort marks a pivotal step forward toward a greener and more resilient future in Uzbekistan.
