GGGI and Korea Rural Community Corporation Sign MoU for Cooperation on Sustainable Agriculture and Fisheries

Seoul, Republic of Korea, October 27, 2023 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU signing was part of Korea Day during GGGI’s Global Green Growth Week 2023, the organization’s flagship knowledge sharing event.

The MoU was officially signed by Helena McLeod, Deputy Director-General of GGGI, and Tae-Seon Park, Agricultural Infrastructure Development Executive Director of KRC, at the GGGI HQ in Seoul. GGGI And KRC actively cooperate on green growth in the fields of agriculture and fishing industries, food security, and rural affairs.

“KRC is delighted to enhance its cooperation with GGGI and announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Through the MoU, KRC aims to strengthen the partnership and KRC will continue to collaborate leveraging GGGI’s global network and the Corporation’s advanced technology,” Tae-Seon Park noted.

The MOU between GGGI and KRC aims to establish a collaborative framework that will facilitate the exchange of experience, technology, information, and human resources. The purpose of this collaboration is to accelerate the cooperation between GGGI and KRC needed to support sustainable development and carbon neutrality in promoting sustainable agriculture and fisheries and empowering rural communities while considering mutual benefits. Following the signing of the MoU, GGGI and KRC organized a meeting to discuss future collaboration plans, including the cooperation of ODA projects was discussed during the meeting.

“GGGI is very excited to collaborate with KRC in expanding agricultural projects in developing nations. GGGI and KRC will combine their expertise to achieve this goal. It will be a very powerful collaboration,” Helena McLeod said during the event.
