Katerina Syngellakis is the Country Representative for Fiji and Vanuatu based in Suva, Fiji. Katerina has three Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management and Sustainable Development and has been working on renewable energy and energy efficiency programs and projects for over 15 years in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific. From 2007 to 2009 she was the Program Manager of the European Union-funded 12.3 million Euro Renewable Energy Programme (REP-5) which installed more than 500 kWp of solar PV systems and carried out various energy policy and energy efficiency activities in Palau, FSM, RMI, Niue and Nauru. Before joining GGGI she worked as the Energy Adviser for GIZ, the German Technical Cooperation, covering Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru, FSM, PNG, Solomon Islands and Tonga. During this time she assisted in mobilizing over 15 million Euro for renewable energy projects in the Pacific. Katerina can speak English, French and Greek and also has some basic Spanish language skills.
