The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) aims to foster cooperation between all stakeholders contributing to inclusive development. GGGI is strongly committed to supporting Uganda’s transition to an inclusive, green and competitive low-carbon economy, especially the sectors in the Uganda Green Growth Development Strategy (UGGDS). This includes making Uganda’s policy and business environment more conducive and inclusive.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German federal company for technical cooperation. GIZ has been operating in Uganda for almost 60 years; promoting sustainable development on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). GIZ implements Germany – Uganda development cooperation activities in three core areas. (1) peaceful and inclusive societies, focusing on good governance and displacement and migration, (2) transformation of agri-food systems, focusing on rural development and agriculture and climate and energy, (3) transition focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency, and climate adaptation/partnership and climate resilience. To promote gender equality, GIZ Uganda strives to create a non-discriminatory work environment that prioritizes employee well-being. This includes building an inclusive workplace where staff have equal opportunities, demonstrate healthy attitudes, and exhibit responsible behaviour. External mainstreaming efforts ensure that interventions foster gender equality and disability inclusion.

Climate Change Department (CCD) situated directly under the office of the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Water and Environment, is primarily tasked with enhancing Uganda’s adherence to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its Kyoto Protocol (KP). In alignment with these objectives, CCD aims to address the gender dimensions of climate change, recognizing the disproportionate impacts faced by women. By integrating gender-responsive approaches into climate policies and programs, CCD seeks to empower women as agents of climate resilience and advocates for inclusive and equitable climate action.
