Vanuatu Business Resilience Training Materials Officially Launched

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Vanuatu Business Resilience Council (VBRC), Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change Adaptation, Meteorology, Geo-Hazards, Environment, Energy and Disaster Management, have officially launched the Vanuatu Business Resilience Training Handbook, Toolkit and Technical Brief Series.

The launching was held on Wednesday 25 November 2020 at the Grand Hotel with attendees from a range of Government departments, private sector, NGOs and other organizations.

The Vanuatu Business Resilience Training Handbook and Toolkit is designed to support small business owners to develop and grow their businesses, prepare for and reduce risks from natural disasters and climate change, and strengthen community and cultural ties. The Technical Brief Series highlights key technical and sectorial issues focused on Business Resilience in Vanuatu.

All materials have been funded under the Green Climate Fund Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme, ‘Mobilizing the Vanuatu Private Sector Towards Climate Change Action’ which is delivered by GGGI, VBRC and VCCI.

GGGI consultant, Dr Adam Trau, and VCCI Business Resilience training officer, Irene Titek, have facilitated 8 business resilience training workshops with over 83 small business owners across Sanma, Shefa and Tafea provinces. Pre and post training survey results found that 84% of participants were very satisfied with the workshop and every participant was able to demonstrate a significant increase in core training competencies.

“I am so glad to have participated in this training. I have been a small business representative for many years and attended many training workshops. This was the best and most useful training I have attended. It truly captures what business resilience means in the Vanuatu context and the tools are so simple yet effective.” Serah Tari

English versions of all training and technical materials are available for download from the VCCI website here www.vcci.vu

Note Bislama version will be loaded once finalized for printing and uploaded on the website.
