GGGI’s Assistant Director-General and Head of Investment and Policy Solutions Division delivered congratulatory remarks at the COP25 side event on Asia-Europe Cooperation on Low Carbon Development!

Within the upcoming COP25 in Madrid, GGGI’s Assistant Director-General and Head of Investment and Policy Solutions Division (IPSD), Susanne Pedersen, today delivered the congratulatory remarks at the COP25 side event on Asia-Europe Cooperation on Low Carbon Development.

The event was hosted by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Center for Climate and Sustainable Development Law and Policy (CSDLAP), and the Climate Change Center.

As the Asian region is becoming increasingly affected by climate change, the need to implement low carbon development policies, encourage financing, and develop low emission technologies is critical. The event served as a platform for countries and related stakeholders to share experiences on how to better realize low-carbon development in Asia.

In line with this, GGGI supports its Members, 14 of which are in the Asia-Pacific region, on realizing low-carbon development to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals and their Nationally Determined Contributions to the Paris Agreement. As the head of GGGI’s IPSD, Ms. Pedersen works with GGGI’s Members on gaining access to climate finance and developing policy solutions for a low-carbon future.

During her remarks, Ms. Pedersen shared her insights on Asia’s progress to plan and implement low carbon development and shared experiences from the work of GGGI.
