Training Workshop on Managing and Dismantling Techniques for Electric Waste

On October 12, 2020, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), with the collaboration of the Senegal State IT Agency (ADIE), held a training workshop on Managing and Dismantling Techniques for Electric Waste in Dakar at the Numeric Solidarity Center.

Sector representatives and workers operating on site took part in the event, which was chaired by the Numeric Solidarity Center Director, Mr. Ismaila MBACKE, and GGGI Senegal Country Representative, Romain BRILLIE.

Following the MOU signed with ADIE, the workshop was part of the annual work plan which aims to deliver skills related to WEEE and best management practices to mitigate the risk of negative health impacts and environmental damage.

The WEEE component is included in the Plastic Wastewater and Electronic Waste in Secondaries Cities Project funded by the government of the Grand Duche of Luxembourg. At end the project, a 100 tons treatment unit with an implementing eco-organism system will be brought into the value chain. The objective of the project is to optimize WEEE management through safe dismantlement.
