On April 30, 2019, in Bogotá, the Technical Workshop for the Creation of the Second Phase of the Green Growth Program, with GGGI Colombia and the Norwegian Embassy in Colombia, was carried out with all strategic government stakeholders in attendance: the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, Agriculture (including and the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit), Finance and Treasury, Commerce/Industry/Tourism, and the National Planning Department (DNP).

The workshop hosted 35 technical experts who shared their knowledge in worktables with GGGI experts about key topics such as forest economy, sustainable livestock/agriculture, nature based-tourism, planning and financing of Green Growth, and deforestation control.

The main outcome of the workshop was that the second phase of the Green Growth Program now has a proposed results framework, which sufficiently addresses specific and current government goals such as reducing deforestation. Valuable new inputs and insights were derived on both how and with whom to implement this program. All of the information gleaned will be integrated into the upcoming proposal.
