Will Rolston

Will Rolston is GGGI’s Senior Officer for the Tonga Program, where he is responsible for planning and organizing program activities including green growth planning, project development, and capacity building with a focus on the energy and transportation sectors.

Will has 27 years’ experience in the energy and sustainability fields as a power engineer, energy analyst, business development manager, and strategic planner. He started as a power generation engineer for Siemens-Westinghouse with concentration on energy project development and operations. Will then became an energy analyst & trader for Janus Capital and several private equity firms.  In Hawaii, he served as the State’s – Renewable Projects Administrator for the Natural Energy Laboratory and as Energy Coordinator for the Island of Hawaii. Returning to private practice, he provided energy consulting services as Director of Energy Island in the areas of renewable energy project development, sustainable community solutions, regulatory and environmental policy.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Florida Institute of Technology.

In his free time, Will likes ocean activities like free-diving, sailing, kayaking, and watching Rugby.
