Dr Walter Reinhardt is GGGI’s Senior Economist in the Pacific. Walter works closely with partner governments and industry to provide economic and strategic insight to green growth policies, plans, infrastructure and projects. Walter leads and contributes to projects in Fiji, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands, as well as regional and global projects. Walter is based in Suva, Fiji.
Walter’s economic and strategic insights draw from over 15 years experience with governments, regulators, banks, consults, not-for-profits and multilateral institutions. Prior to joining GGGI, Walter worked in the Australian Government Treasury on infrastructure, industry and competition policy.
Walter has a PhD from Australian National University (2015), where his research examined the policy and economics of water and energy demand management. Walter has Bachelor degrees from University of Melbourne (Agricultural Science (Honours), 2009) and University of Queensland (Science, Commerce, 2006).
