Shiferaw Tafesse Gobena is a Senior Program Officer for Sustainable Land Use and Agriculture Program in the GGGI Ethiopia office. In this role Shiferaw is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of sustainable land use and climate-smart agriculture projects.
Before joining GGGI, Shiferaw worked for different organizations such as Self Help Africa, Sasakawa Africa Association, Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency, ACDI/VOCA Ethiopia, and the International Potato Center. He worked on several agricultural research and development projects, including crop disease management, seed systems, integrated soil fertility management, agricultural extension and agribusiness development.
Shiferaw holds a PhD in Crop Protection and Innovation Systems from Wageningen University and Research.
