Solomon Zewdie Zeweldemariam is a Senior Officer, Sustainable Landscape Program, serving as a country focal point for the Forest Finance and Investment Incubator (FFII) Ethiopia project at GGGI. FFII is a global collaborative program implemented in partnership with Conservation International (CI), as part of a cooperative agreement with the US Department of State (DOS).
In his role as a country focal point, Solomon is responsible for leading the delivery of FFII project in Ethiopia by supporting stakeholders engagement; development of policy action plans and financial investment plans; and engage in mobilization of finance for investment opportunities to build a portfolio of potential investments.
Before joining GGGI, Solomon was a program officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis, supported Norway’s climate partnership with the government of Ethiopia (GoE) and managed project grants of the Embassy’s Civil Society portfolio. Earlier, he worked with the GoE for over years and led the design & implementation of subnational REDD+ programs. Solomon has long-term experience in university level teaching, research, and graduate program coordination.
Solomon has a PhD in Biology (Plant Ecophysiology).
