Ibsa Melkamu Amenu is Senior Energy Officer for GGGI in Ethiopia. In this role, Ibsa is responsible for solar water supply for Irrigation and solar mini-grid electrification system starting from the demand selection up to the system serves the community including demand analysis, system design, preparation of the technical specification and BOQ, supervision during procurement and supply and installation.
Before joining GGGI, Ethiopia, Ibsa has worked as a senior electromechanical engineer in Oromia water and energy resource development bureau, as a solar water pumping specialist in the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy of Ethiopia and as an Energy Adviser in GIZ-Energy Coordination office of Ethiopia. Ibsa has also worked as a lecturer at Aksum University Mechanical Engineering Department. During the course of his career Ibsa has completed many projects that are still serving the community.
Ibsa has M.Sc. in Renewable energy Technology and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
