Phonesavanh Latmany or “Ki” is a Cities & Climate Change Officer in GGGI’s country program in Lao PDR. In his current role, he works closely with the National Designated Authority (NDA) for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness and Preparatory Support Project as well as with the Department of Climate Change for technical support and broader engagement including NDC revision and implementation, and climate related policies. Phonesavanh is also involved in promoting green city development in Lao PDR by engaging city stakeholders to identify problems, challenges and opportunities for green city development through a formulation of green city action plan as well as technical capacity building.
Prior to joining GGGI, Phonesavanh was a Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management Advisor for CARE International based in Lao PDR, overseeing and providing technical and advisory supports to projects on climate change and disaster risk reduction. He worked for the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) based in Vientiane Regional Office.
Phonesavanh holds two MSc degrees. He graduated an Agricultural and Resources Economics at Kyushu University in Japan in 2008, and the Environmental Management at the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 2014.
