Nontaya Krairiksh is a GHG and Sustainability Officer of GGGI Thailand Team, based in Bangkok. Her roles are to oversee in-country project implementations. The focuses of these projects are towards sustainable energy in Thailand’s industrial sector and green cities development especially in the industrial areas. Nontaya developed the Greenhouse Gas Diagnostic Report, which was the basis on industrial subsector selection for Thailand’s GHG Reduction Roadmap. As a natural follow-on, she was succeeded in developing the NDC Action Plan for Industrial Sector, which roots what the sector should start with in order to tackle the NDC target.
Prior to GGGI, Nontaya was a Carbon Finance Analyst at The World Bank in Bangkok, Thailand, providing supervision and ensured timeliness to the project entities in terms of CDM project implementation; performing a feasibility assessment and possible scope for tradable carbon credit projects; and supported the Bank team in a design of a financial mechanism for sustainable financing of wildlife and forest conservation project.
With over 10 years of extensive experiences working with international organizations and other various stakeholders—i.e. government, private sector, academic institutions and civil society organizations— and with expertise in GHG mitigation projects and the sustainability aspect of these projects, Nontaya employs her technical and social knowledge on sustainability, especially on climate change, and project management skills combined with experiences working with international organizations and various stakeholders to contribute towards green growth of Thailand.
Nontaya holds an MSc in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and has an educational background in development economics.
