Medhin Fissha Mekonnen is a Gender and Social Inclusion Officer for National Adaptation Plan(NAP) Readiness Project of GGGI Ethiopia program. She is responsible for leading the integration of gender and social inclusion considerations in the full cycle of project management and also serve as a focal point for gender and social inclusion to the GGGI Ethiopia program.
Prior to GGGI as a staff, she has worked as a Gender and Safeguards Consultant to the GCF Readiness Project of the GGGI seconded to Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) Facility in the Ministry of Finance of Ethiopia. Further, she has also worked with InsuResilience Global Partnership Secretariate as an advisor in disaster risk financing and insurance and UNDP Ethiopia program seconded to the CRGE Facility as environment and social safeguards specialist. She has worked with various organizations with a focus on resilience building, climate finance, disaster risk management, environment and social safeguards, gender and social inclusion and has sound technical expertise in program design, implementation and management, monitoring and evaluation, designing and managing action researches and capacity building.
Medhin holds a Master of Science degree in Resource and Environmental Economics and also Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
