Mayang Meilantina

Mayang Meilantina is a Green Growth Development Senior Officer for GGGI Indonesia’s Sustainable Landscape Team. In this role, she oversees mainstreaming the green growth into government strategies and plans both in national and sub-national levels. She provides technical advice to the government in the development of background studies for the national medium-term development plan and the technocratic document of the regional medium-term development plan, as well as other strategic documents.

Mayang has strong interests in the community, rural and regional development. Her twenty-years working experience has given her strong analytical skills on strategic issues, especially related to development and green economy issues. During her previous position in the UNDP/REDD+ under Indonesia-Norway partnership, she gained extensive experience in legal and policy advocation to develop the Enriched REDD+ Strategy of Central Kalimantan Province and to facilitate the legislation process. Prior to that, she worked for Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS), where Mayang was actively involved in annual development plan meetings, musrenbang and to facilitate government development plan using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools.

Mayang holds a master double degree from Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in the economics of rural development and from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in agricultural economy. She is currently a Ph.D candidate in Environmental Science at the Palangka Raya University.
