María Clemencia Castellanos Forero

María Clemencia Castellanos Forero is GGGI’s Regional Associate in Nariño, Colombia with the mission of implementing GGGI subnational strategy in Nariño, support green growth mainstreaming, provide technical support for green growth planning and financing, develop capacity building and institutional strengthening strategies and promote economic activities such as sustainable tourism, cattle ranching, forestry and green businesses.

She has 10 years of work experience as a public policy analyst, expertise on social, economic and environmental policy (from formulation to implementation) from both the public sector and international cooperation. Before joining GGGI she was a consultant for KfW to provide technical support for the Green Growth Task Force for the formulation Colombia’s Long-Term Green Growth Policy in articulation with the Agenda 2030. Also, providing technical support to the SDG Technical Secretariat of the SDG Commission on the formulation of the Sustainable development long term policy.

She speaks Spanish, English and French. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with emphasis on law from Los Andes University  in Bogotá, Colombia and a MPP Master in Public Policy with emphasis on economic policy and a Master in Environmental Management and Development from the Australian National University, Crawford School of Public Policy in Canberra, Australia.
