Mallé Fofana

Malle is currently the Director for Africa and Head of Programs. Mallé has more than 18 years of professional experience in the development sector, including resource mobilization, project development and implementation.

Mallé is previously GGGI’s Country Representative for Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire. He joined GGGI as a Business Development specialist in the Senegal office. He opened up the Burkina country program from Senegal, and became Burkina Faso country representative. Following the successful and rapid development of the Burkina Faso country program and team, Malle initiated the Cote d’Ivoire and Togo operations, and moved to Abidjan in 2021.

Prior to joining GGGI, Mallé worked for Dalberg and RMDA as Africa Managing Director focusing on development issues in Africa, defining, leading, and implementing a range of economic and social development initiatives throughout the Africa region. He has participated in 100+ projects across various key sectors in Africa working for the largest donors as well as the private sector.  In this role, one of Mallé ‘s key achievements was to orchestrate a development partner’s approach that raised a combined USD 8.5B for the governments of Burundi and Guinea.

Mallé, a Senegalese national, was recognized, in 2020, as the Best African Promotor of Green Economy – Rwanda Award. Mallé holds a MSc in Management, an MBA in International Development and a PhD in Environmental Organization and Methods applied from the University of Lyon, France.
