Edith Louise (Loit) Batac joined GGGI in the role of Senior Officer for the Philippine Country Program in February 2021. In this role, Loit will ensure on-the-ground delivery of a multi-year KOICA-sponsored project, the “Climate Resilient and Inclusive Green Growth for Poor Rural Communities: Accelerating Implementation in the Agriculture Value Chain in Oriental Mindoro.” Loit also supports strategic communications and stakeholder engagement activities of the Philippine Country Program.
Prior to joining GGGI, she worked for a leading geothermal energy company in the Philippines where she engaged with community stakeholders, regulators, lawmakers, and business groups in advocating for renewable energy policies in her country. She also led a team of experts in formulating a resiliency plan to mainstream disaster risk reduction in the geothermal facilities and the host communities.
She obtained a master’s degree in public policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She is passionate about issues involving climate action, mainstreaming the rights of persons with disabilities, and animal welfare. She loves to cook, maintains a small edible garden in her balcony, and enjoys traveling with her family.
