Jesse Benjamin

Jesse Benjamin joined GGGI as the Senior Officer – Vanuatu, in 2021. As the Senior Officer for Vanuatu, he oversees developing substantive inputs and analysis to the development, delivery and assessment of work programmes and activities in Vanuatu. Jesse is also responsible for organizing programme activities and managing effective programme reporting and communication with government stakeholders and development partners.

Before joining GGGI, Jesse was working as the Program Delivery officer for the Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE) based in the Kingdom of Tonga.
Prior to this, Jesse was the Director General for the Ministry of Climate Change in Vanuatu and act as the GCF National Designated Authority (NDA), GEF Operational Focal Point and the UNFCCC Operational Focal Point. He was also the Director of Energy Department for several years before taking on the Director General role.

Jesse holds a Masters Degree in Engineering, majoring in Energy Policy and Planning from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). He also holds a Degree in Engineering Technology- Electrical from the University of the South Pacific.
