Hyun S. Lee joined GGGI in 2017 and currently he is a Senior Officer at GGGI UAE Program based in Abu Dhabi. At his current role, he is leading the projects including but not limited to climate change policy and strategy development in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the Government of UAE.

Prior to joining the UAE Program, he worked for the Investment and Policy Solutions Division based in GGGI Headquarters supporting African and Asian country programs such as Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Mongolia, India and Nepal developing and implementing both policy and investment projects in the context of climate change mitigation and adaption.

Before joining GGGI, Hyun worked for the World Bank’s Carbon Finance Unit and for the Economist Intelligence Unit’s public sector consulting practice based in New York, and also worked for the UAE-based engineering conglomerate leading project development in the field of power, water and desalination in the Gulf countries.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Sustainable Development Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
