HyoYoul Kim

HyoYoul Kim is based in Seoul working as the Regional Coordinator for Middle East, where he managed and coordinated country programs in the region and initiated new partnerships. He also served as the Principal Program Development Specialist, supporting country teams and head of programs in scoping and designing projects for earmarked resource mobilization, focusing on program opportunities from Korean funding sources.

He joined GGGI as an internal auditor in 2012. He also served as GGGI’s Country Representative to the Philippines for four and a half years, managing the country team and program, and coordinating with key stakeholders such as the Climate Change Commission under the Office of the President.

Prior to GGGI, he was a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Korea, providing professional consulting service to multinational companies and national and local government agencies in the areas of Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), Green Growth Policy and Planning, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), process improvement, and internal audit enhancement. He was also a project director who developed the National Green Growth Strategy of Korea and Five-year Action Plan with the Presidential Committee on Green Growth and a member of GHG committee of the Ministry of Environment. He also worked at Samsung as an IT system development specialist at his very early career stage.

He holds a master’s degree in Management Information System from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
