Fred Tuhairwe

Fred Tuhairwe is an Associate Energy Officer based in the Uganda Country Fred is currently providing technical backstopping to the Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) project and providing support to the Uganda sustainable energy program, which includes solar PV, mini-grid development, and industrial energy efficiency.

Fred joined GGGI in May 2018 as a project Associate Solar Home Systems (SHS) project which was implemented in the Secondary cities of Mabarara and Gulu in Uganda until 31/12/2020. He previously worked with the Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) as a technical officer, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) as an energy officer, the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) as a coordinator of solar powered micro/mini-grids and Makerere University in Kampala as a coordinator of the MSc. Renewable Energy program.

Fred has finalized his post graduate diploma in project planning and Management (DPPM) from Uganda Management Institute (UMI). He also holds a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Technologies (MRET) and Bachelor of Science with specialization in Physics from Makerere University in Kampala.
