Ferruccio Santetti

Chief of Staff and Director, Strategy, Sustainable Finance and Global Initiatives

Ferruccio Santetti is the Chief of Staff and Director, Strategy, Sustainable Finance and Global Initiatives. He was Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Sustainable Finance Global Lead based in Mexico City. In this dual role, he leads GGGI’s operations across 13 countries in LAC, overseeing strategic planning, member engagement, fundraising, and green investment mobilization, while also shaping the organization’s global sustainable finance agenda. 

Ferruccio, an Italian national, has over 15 years of experience in sustainable finance, climate policy, and project development. Since joining GGGI in 2017, he has driven the Institute’s regional expansion, growing the region’s investment projects portfolio from USD 50 million to over USD 4.2 billion in 2025. Ferruccio has led the structuring and closing of over USD 7 billion in green investment transactions and serves as Principal Expert of GGGI’s Global Trust Fund on Sustainable Finance Instruments and the EU Global Green Bond Initiative. 

Prior to joining GGGI, Ferruccio worked with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Singapore, supporting the launch of the Asia Sustainable Finance Hub and contributing to sustainable finance policy frameworks such as the ASEAN Sustainable & Responsible Fund Standards. He previously held roles with UNDP, JICA, and Deloitte, advising on renewable energy finance across Indonesia, Argentina, and Guatemala. 

Ferruccio sits on the Advisory Board of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and was a member of the EU High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. He holds an MSc in Finance from ESCP Europe, and a Bachelor’s in Corporate Finance from King’s College London and the University of Florence.
