Christophe Assicot

Christophe Assicot is a Green Investment Specialist in GGGI’s Green Investment Services Department. He is responsible for providing expertise in climate finance to contribute to the development, structuring and implementation of investments, technical assistance and funds.

Christophe has over 10 years’ experience in climate change mitigation, with a focus on financing and policy formulation. Prior to joining GGGI, he ran the Beijing branch of a private advisory firm active in the origination and financing of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions investments located in China, the Middle East and Africa. He managed a large portfolio of projects under the UNFCCC’s Clean Development Mechanism and built up in-depth understanding of key green growth sectors and associated GHG abatement technologies, including renewable energy (hydropower, wind, solar, biomass), energy efficiency (waste heat recovery at cement and steel production facilities, associated gas recovery at oil fields), municipal solid waste (composting, landfill gas recovery) and forestry carbon sequestration.

He was also a key contributor in the preparation of the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) of the Republic of Chad, and was involved in the design of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) in Mongolia.

Christophe holds an MSc degree in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford, and an undergraduate degree from ESSEC Business School in Paris.
