Abdelmajid Bennis Nechba

Morocco Country Representative

Abdelmajid Bennis Nechba is the Country Representative for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Morocco. With over 25 years of extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, as well as international organizations, he is a seasoned climate and environment program manager and policy advisor focused on low-carbon socio-economic development. Before his current role, Majid was the Country Lead (2020-2024), responsible for the program development and managing the operational aspects of the country office, while also representing GGGI in engagements with the Government and various stakeholders. Earlier in his tenure at GGGI, he was the Senior Officer for the Morocco Program (2017-2020), playing a key role in strategic planning, operational implementation, and stakeholder coordination, and he also served as the Morocco Green Growth Expert (2015-2017). Throughout his career, he has forged an agile and distinctive profile, accumulating more than 16 years of professional experience in the private sector as a project manager focused on green territory development, particularly in agriculture. He has worked as an auditor in a private legal cabinet and as a consultant for the FAO. In the public sector, he served as a technical advisor to the Minister of Environment, specializing in circular economy and sustainable development. Abdelmajid holds a master’s degree in audit and management accounting from Paris School of Business (PSB), a bachelor’s degree in business administration and another in finance. He is a certified expert in Project Design & Management (UN-ITCILO, 2021) and in Climate Adaptation Finance (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, 2022). Additionally, he is a Certified Development Project Manager (CDPM-I-II-III, Advanced, Expert and Master Level certifications) from PM4DEV (2023-2024) and earned the Galileo Master Certificate in Hydrogen Energy Projects Development (Renewable Energy Institute, 2024).
