Category
The transition toward green and climate-resilient economies in Central Asia requires not only political commitment, but also technical knowledge, institutional capacity, and practical tools to translate that commitment into tangible action. This publication aims to address that need by providing a structured guide to the key concepts, frameworks, and instruments underpinning modern sustainable finance.
The material consists of six modules and is divided into three parts, all of which can be accessed through the links below.

The material consolidates the training resources developed under the project ‘Bridging the Gaps of Climate Finance in Central Asia’, delivered through four training sessions conducted between 2025 and 2026 in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is intended to make this knowledge more accessible to financial institutions, policymakers, and development practitioners committed to advancing sustainable finance across the region. This material has been developed as part of the project “Bridging the Gaps of Climate Finance in Central Asia.” The project is implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) under the Small Grants and Climate Innovation Facility (SGCIF), which is funded by UK International Development. SGCIF is a part of the regional programme “Climate Risk Management in Central Asia”, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government. The project is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
