The Roadmap for Sustainable Transport in Jordan’s Tourism Sector 2026–2030 provides a strategic framework to transition tourist transport toward low-carbon, sustainable mobility. Endorsed by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with technical support from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the roadmap aligns with Jordan’s Nationally Determined Contribution, targeting a 31% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. It sets measurable targets for tourist buses, including an unconditional reduction of 1,550 tons of CO₂ equivalent and a conditional reduction of 9,591 tons of CO₂ equivalent with international support. The roadmap outlines four main instruments—technology and infrastructure, policy and regulation, access to finance, and knowledge sharing—each supported by specific actions and measurable indicators. By integrating these elements, the roadmap promotes clean mobility, enhances visitor experiences, and strengthens sustainable transport’s contribution to Jordan’s green and inclusive economic growth.
