As part of GGGI’s Asia Low Carbon Building Transition (ALCBT) project, the study “Policy Review & Institutional Mapping of Building Energy Efficiency Programs in India” assesses the effectiveness and alignment of government initiatives, identifying key barriers to India’s net-zero goals.

The report outlines critical challenges, including the lack of net-zero building guidelines, limited awareness, weak incentives, uneven implementation of ECBC and ENS, high costs of cooling technologies, poor data systems, and weak enforcement. It will serve as a baseline for policy recommendations supporting India’s transition to low-carbon buildings.
