This report examines green hydrogen as a feedstock for domestic ammonia and fertilizer production in Nepal. It assesses global lessons on the current technologies to produce green hydrogen and includes a detailed input and output analysis for hydrogen production using electricity and water, covering alkaline water electrolyzer (AWE), polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolyzer, and solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC) technologies. The report concludes with recommending the alkaline electrolyzer technology for fertilizer production in Nepal.
