In 2025, GGGI made significant strides in translating Article 6 of the Paris Agreement from policy framework into operational reality. Across Member and Partner Countries, we delivered 178 awareness-raising and capacity-building events engaging over 5,700 participants, supported the adoption of 11 national Article 6 strategies, and facilitated 8 Bilateral Agreements and 6 Memoranda of Understanding between buyer and seller countries. A 40% growth in GGGI’s carbon portfolio reflects the accelerating momentum of this work. 

A landmark milestone in 2025 was the Carbon Transaction Facility (CTF) closing its first carbon transactions across multiple national programs, representing over USD 500 million in potential mitigation activity value. The GGGI Carbon 2025 Results Report documents this progress in full, presenting the evidence that the investments made in institutional capacity and international cooperation are now unlocking real opportunities for climate action and green growth.
