In 2022, IEU is undertaking an evaluation of GGGI’s Pacific Programming. The Evaluation is part of the 2022 Annual Evaluation Workplan, that was developed in consultation with GGGI’s Management Team and the Council’s Management Program Sub-Committee (MPSC).

The objective of the Evaluation is to provide an assessment of results in the Pacific between 2017 and 2021 and identify the lessons and opportunities to further improve the delivery and impact of GGGI’s Pacific programming.

The Evaluation’s objective has been expressed as a set of Key Evaluation Questions (KEQs) to be addressed, that are aligned with the OECD Development Assistance Committee’s Evaluation Criteria. The KEQs are,

  1. How are GGGI’s service offerings relevant and adding value to Pacific Island Countries?
  2. What are the key results and lessons learned from programming in Pacific Island Countries?
  3. How do GGGI’s operations in Pacific Island Countries address gender and social inclusion?
  4. How can GGGI’s management be made more efficient and effective?

The Approach Paper defines the evaluation’s objectives and scope, methodology and work plan, and visibility strategy. The content of the Approach Paper follows that stated in GGGI’s Evaluation Rules. The Approach Paper was reviewed by GGGI’s Management and the Evaluation’s Advisory Group, comprised of the Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines.

The final Evaluation Report will be completed in the third quarter of 2022 and made publicly available through www.gggi.org
