The Urban Cooling Action Plan (UCAP) for Can Tho City has been developed to advance sustainable urban cooling, providing strategic directions and recommendations to enhance the city’s climate resilience and support a heat-resilient urban future. The UCAP identifies priority interventions and practical solutions to promote sustainable cooling measures suitable for Can Tho’s urban context, contributing to Viet Nam’s broader goals on climate change adaptation and sustainable urban development.

This report is one of the key outputs under the cooperative initiative “Sustainable Urban Cooling for Vietnamese Cities”, implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). Can Tho has been selected as one of the two pilot cities for the implementation of sustainable urban cooling interventions under this initiative.
