The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) serves the role of an enabler and facilitator of Members States transition to a low-carbon green economy, providing policy advice and technical support in the development of green growth plans, policies and regulations, mobilization of green investments, implementation of green growth projects, and development of local capacities and knowledge sharing.

Our Collective Journey

GGGI in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) operates as a strategic partner for public and private sector, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term policies, through providing technical assistance and mobilizing green investment.

Currently, GGGI has a presence in 13 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), with 36 active projects and 130 expert collaborators across the region. The projects focus on areas such as sustainable finance mobilization, adaptation and resilience to climate change, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, generation of green jobs, gender equality, and social inclusion.

Our Results At A Glance

GGGI in LAC’s impacts include:

1. USD 8 billion in climate finance and green investments

2. 163.6 million tons of GHG emissions reduced

3. 1 million people accessed essential sustainable services

4. 6.6 million hectares managed sustainably
