The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), funded by the Embassy of Ireland in Jordan and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Environment (MoEnv) and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), is launching a new initiative in southern Jordan titled Green Pathways for Youth Entrepreneurship.

The project aims to empower youth in the underserved governorates of Ma’an, Tafileh, and Karak to develop viable, environmentally sustainable business solutions that contribute to Jordan’s green transition.

The initiative was officially launched today at an event bringing together representatives from MoEnv, MoDEE, and GGGI. Speakers highlighted the project’s objectives and its role in strengthening green entrepreneurship opportunities for youth. The event also marked the start of a Training of Trainers (ToT) program, designed to equip selected MoDEE future stations staff with the skills needed to support participants throughout the project.

Through MoDEE future stations, the project will engage 300 youth aged 16–35, with at least 50% women, providing training in green entrepreneurship, business development, and climate-resilient innovation. Participants will also benefit from mentorship, prototype development, and pitching opportunities.

Under the Training of Trainers model, eight hub staff will receive intensive capacity building to strengthen local support systems and ensure the sustainability of green entrepreneurship initiatives beyond the project’s duration.

Collectively, the project will strengthen youth skills, expand climate-smart livelihood opportunities, and support the achievement of national priorities, including the Green Growth National Action Plans across its six sectors, the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), and Jordan’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The project also aligns with the efforts of the Directorate of Strategies, Future, and Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to advance innovation and entrepreneurship, and to foster an enabling environment for sustainable investment and digital growth. In addition, the project contributes to Jordan’s progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, supports inclusive green growth, job creation, and enhances resilience to environmental challenges.
