We are pleased to announce that the Pacific Greenpreneurs Incubator Program 2021 has successfully kicked off in six countries! Sixty-eight green enterprises across six countries make up the 2021 cohort, of whom two-thirds are women-led (68%) and youth-led (62%) and supporting 133 entrepreneurs between them. Early-stage purpose-driven enterprises with social and/or environmental impact were selected and represent a diverse range of sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, agro-processing, tourism & hospitality, renewable energy, circular economy, waste management and ICT.
The 3-year Pacific Green Entrepreneurs Network (PGEN) program is funded by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented by GGGI. PGEN aims to support green and inclusive job growth by supporting entrepreneurs (particularly women and youth) develop their green and sustainable businesses – contributing to their country’s climate and sustainable development goals in Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
The Pacific Greenpreneurs Incubator program offers a training and mentoring program aimed at supporting innovative early-stage green micro, small, and medium-enterprises (MSMEs) to grow. The program will culminate in a business plan competition where green enterprises will vie to win grant funding of USD$5,000 to grow their businesses.
