Seoul, Republic of Korea – 25 June 2026 — The Global Green Growth Institute’s (GGGI) Management and Program Sub-Committee (MPSC) concluded its 23rd meeting following a period of E-Consultations held from 11–19 June 2026 and a hybrid meeting convened at GGGI Headquarters in Seoul.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Billy Katontoka, National Coordinator, Ministry for Green Economy and Environment of the Republic of Zambia, in his capacity as MPSC Co-Chair. MPSC Members from the Republic of Korea, Norway, and Zambia participated in the meeting, together with Observers from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Pakistan, and Philippines. Deputy Executive Directors Mr. Gerard O’Donoghue and Dr. Malle Fofana, Chief of Staff Mr. Ferruccio Santetti, and members of the GGGI Secretariat also attended the meeting in person and virtually.
The MPSC reviewed and discussed key aspects of GGGI’s strategic direction, organizational performance, and institutional priorities. Discussions covered the Update on the 2026 Operational Budget, the Draft Work Program and Budget 2027–2028, and the Corporate Results Framework 2026–2030. Members also considered updates on Host Country Agreements and the review of country office operations, with discussions focusing on maintaining effective country engagement while ensuring operational efficiency. The MPSC further received updates on the New Frontier Group, the Carbon Transaction Facility, the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Strategy 2026–2030, preparations for Global Green Growth Week 2026 and the 15th Session of the Assembly and 19th Session of the Council, and the upcoming elections to GGGI’s governance organs. The Committee also reviewed the Terms of Reference for the Evaluation of Just and Inclusive Energy Transition and discussed GGGI’s continued efforts to strengthen institutional performance and delivery in support of Strategy 2030.
Closing the meeting, Members were reminded that the 15th Session of the Assembly and 19th Session of the Council will take place on 30 October 2026, during the week of Global Green Growth Week 2026.

About the GGGI’s Management and Program Sub-Committee (MPSC)
The MPSC in 2026 is composed of GGGI Member States of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Senegal, and the Republic of Zambia. The MPSC advises the Council on overseeing GGGI’s financial reporting and audit processes, programmatic activities, partnerships and global outreach, and internal oversight. It also plays a key role in facilitating coordination between the Council and the Secretariat in between the annual Council sessions.
