Minister for Forests and Climate Change Patrick Pruaitch has pledged Government’s support to the Global Green Growth Institute after the recent appointment of its new director-general.
Pruaitch congratulated Yvo de Boer saying that his appointment had opened a new window of co-operation between GGGI and the Government as plans for green growth in the country and the Pacific were being pursued.
“As a newly elected council member of the assembly, PNG will continue to support GGGI and looks forward to a closer collaboration with your office on green growth in the Pacific Island Region,” Pruaitch said.
The GGGI is a fairly new international treaty on Green Growth which PNG ratified on January 31, 2013.
