Making progress in Medellin with Workshop #2: Successful cases of Green Growth in Antioquia

Medellín, October 30 – The Subnational Program of the GGGI Colombia team, with the support of the Norwegian Embassy and the Government of Antioquia, carried out the second of four capacity building workshops in green growth for public and private stakeholders in this department.

This second meeting focused on sharing the national and regional successful cases, opportunities and challenges of the economic scenarios for Green Growth. Special attention was given to bio economy, forest economy and circular economy.

More than 60 different stakeholders participated: from the private sector (forestry, avocado, livestock, among others), from the public sector (territorial entities, environmental authorities and research institutes), the civil society and academia.

This workshop conducted two panels of technicians experts and one participatory exercise where the participants exchanged knowledge and recognized the opportunities and challenges of these new economies in their region, while providing ideas about how to carry more sustainable actions.
