Jakarta, Indonesia, October 20, 2025 – The Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/Bappenas officially launched the Business Matchmaking Program to accelerate the transition of the plastics sector towards a more sustainable model through the application of circular economy principles. This program is part of the Plastics Circular Investment Initiative (PCII) project supported by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
The launch agenda opened with remarks by Nizhar Marizi, Director of Environment at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas. “In the RPJMN, the circular economy has become the second national priority, especially in relation to the green economy. So, it can be seen that our activities to encourage the potential of recycled plastics and bioplastics are in line with the government’s work program for the next 5 years,” said Nizhar Marizi.
“We hope that participants in this program will gain sufficient knowledge and skills to develop innovative projects that can address the challenges of the recycled plastic and bioplastic infrastructure sector, while also complying with Indonesian government regulations and policies in this sector. This is part of GGGI’s efforts to mobilize investment for the circular plastic ecosystem,” said Vidya Fauzianti, GGGI Indonesia Deputy Country Representative.
Justin Wiganda, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI), emphasized in his speech, “We are committed to ensuring that Indonesia’s plastic ecosystem is able to compete in the global market. ADUPI believes that there will be many opportunities and doors of progress that will open through cross-party collaboration, which will ultimately strengthen the circular economy in Indonesia.”
In line with this, Inge Setyawati, Director of PT Intera Lestari Polimer, said, “We believe that through this Business Matchmaking Program, the acceleration of the national bioplastic industry towards a sustainable plastics industry and circular economy can be further realized.”
