In 2018, Norway commissioned a review of ID01 GGGI’s Indonesia Program (2012–2017). The program aimed to mainstream green growth into Indonesia’s national and provincial planning and integrate REDD+ into a broader green growth approach. Phase II of the program focused on Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), REDD+ investment mobilization, and institutional capacity strengthening. The program was funded by Norway via Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI).

The evaluation reviewed the program’s achievements under Phase I (2012–2015) and conducted a mid-term review of Phase II (2015–2017), assessing the results and impacts achieved against the program’s results framework. The evaluation examined the program’s efficiency, management capacity, achievement of results, relevance, sustainability, impact, risk management, and human rights and gender considerations, and identified lessons learned and good practices.
