Hungary becomes GGGI Member

IMG_0948Paris – December 08, 2015 – Hungary has become a member of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) after formally signing the Agreement of Establishment in the margins of the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) in Paris, France.

“We hope our cooperation will involve a wide range of actors, and added value in all key focus areas of Hungary in climate finance.” said H.E Mr András Aradszki, dr. Minister of State, Ministry of National Development of Hungary. “We look forward to GGGI playing a significant role in supporting Hungary’s presence in the international climate finance arena.”

Today’s signing makes Hungary the twenty-fifth member-country of GGGI.

“GGGI is pleased to welcome Hungary as its newest member, and looks forward to close collaboration that will strengthen Hungary’s green growth ambitions, as well as GGGI’s ongoing work around the world to deliver inclusive, sustainable growth.” said Yvo de Boer, Director-General of GGGI.

The signing comes on the heels of the GGGI-led launch of the Inclusive Green Growth Partnership, and GGGI organized COP21 side-events emphasizing the need for climate action financing.
