GGGI’s MPSC Celebrates 2024 Milestones, Sets Ambitious Course for 2025

Seoul, Republic of Korea – April 30, 2025— The Global Green Growth Institute’s Management and Program Sub-Committee (MPSC) concluded its 20th meeting . The meeting involved a period of E-Consultations from April 18-25, followed by a hybrid meeting session on April 30.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Minyoung Han, Director-General of the Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Scientific Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, on behalf of the two co-chairs of the MPSC—Korea and Zambia. MPSC Members of Korea, Norway, Senegal, and Zambia, along with observers from Angola, Australia, Burkina Faso, Colombia, El Salvador, Kenya, Philippines, and the United Kingdom actively participated in the discussions.
The MPSC reviewed key aspects of GGGI’s performance and strategic direction. Discussions covered GGGI’s achievements in 2024, as detailed in the 2024 Results Report and the organization’s 2024 financial performance update. The MPSC also welcomed GGGI’s ambitious work program for 2025 and agreed to recommend to the Council the approval of GGGI’s 2024 Audited Financial Statements.
Strategic discussions were informed by the Director-General’s Progress Report, which outlined his vision and priorities for 2025 and beyond. The MPSC also received updates on the Mid-Term Evaluation of GGGI’s Strategy 2030, including its emerging findings, and reviewed the Terms of Reference for the Strategy 2030 update process. Members were also informed on GGGI membership, host country agreements, and country programming updates.
Furthermore, the MPSC considered proposals to strengthen GGGI’s multi-stakeholder engagement through the potential reactivation of the Advisory Committee and a strategic refinement of the Donor Consultation Group. These efforts aim to consolidate and diversify the organization’s partnership base. The MPSC agreed that the Secretariat will proceed with developing a Terms of Reference for further discussion in June.

The steps we take now—through our renewed focus on innovation, stronger and more inclusive partnerships, and strategic realignment—will enable GGGI to deliver bold, transformative changes for our Member States and Partners.”
The MPSC will reconvene for its 21st meeting on June 26, 2025, which will be preceded by E-Consultations from June 16–23, 2025.

About the GGGI’s Management and Program Sub-Committee (MPSC)
The MPSC in 2025 is composed of GGGI Member States of the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Senegal, and the Republic of Zambia. The MPSC advises the Council on overseeing GGGI’s financial reporting and audit processes, programmatic activities, partnerships and global outreach, and internal oversight. It also plays a key role in facilitating coordination between the Council and the Secretariat in between the annual Council sessions.
